Maui Huliau Foundation Creates New Video

This 7 minute film about Hoaloha ʻĀina/South Maui Volunteers was funded by Office of Economic Development and was shown to the public at the annual youth film festival on June 4th, 2016 at ʻĪao Theater and then uploaded to the Maui Huliau YouTube channel.

Maui Huliau Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit working to promote environmental literacy and leadership among Maui's youth ages 12-18. Maui Huliau Foundation runs environmental education programs for Maui youth. The Huliau Environmental Film-making Club is their longest-running and most popular program that began in 2010. It is a semester-long after-school program where students work in teams of 3-4 students to create a short film about an environmental issue impacting Hawaii. The more than 50 films created so far cover a wide array of topics and include documentaries, Claymation films and even music videos and have been selected more than 50 times for film festivals across the country.
